Gut health division

Acupuncture and functional medicine for gut health.

Bloating, reflux, IBS-type symptoms, irregularity and food reactions — worked up with your history, your existing labs and targeted functional testing, rather than another elimination diet guessed at from a symptom list.

Herbs and whole foods used in functional gut health care

What we see

  • Bloating and distension that gets worse through the day.
  • Reflux and upper-gut symptoms, including after stopping a PPI.
  • IBS-type patterns — alternating stools, urgency, cramping, food fear.
  • Post-antibiotic or post-infection gut changes that never went back to normal.
  • The gut–immune connection: skin flares, joint aches and fatigue that track with digestion.

How we work it up

  1. Map the pattern

Timing, triggers, stool pattern, stress load, medication and antibiotic history.

  2. Test where it answers a question

Functional stool, breath or blood testing when the result would change the plan — and not otherwise.

  3. Treat and re-check

Acupuncture, herbal medicine and a food plan built for your life, with re-checks so we can see what is actually shifting.

Digestive symptoms can have serious causes. We work alongside your gastroenterologist and primary care, and we will tell you when something needs a scope, imaging or bloodwork before anything else.

Gut health questions

Can acupuncture help IBS and bloating?

Digestive complaints are one of the main reasons patients come to the internal-medicine side of this practice. Treatment combines acupuncture, herbal medicine and a targeted food plan, built from your history and testing rather than a generic protocol. Individual results vary.

Do I need functional stool testing?

Only when the result would change the plan. Many patients get further with a careful history and the bloodwork they already have.

Will I have to cut out entire food groups?

The goal is the opposite: work out what is driving the reaction so your diet can widen again. Restriction, where we use it, is temporary and specific.
