AGE MANAGEMENT

Age Management Acupuncture

The hallmark of all age related diseases and dysfunction are categorized by a loss in function. Age related disorders can be thought of as not being at your optimal state. This can be on a physical plane, a conscious plane, etc. Age related disorders are treated at my clinic by directly impacting each patient’s brain health, overall nervous system health, cardiovascular health, and musculoskeletal system. Diseases of aging are characterized by the abundance of senescent cells in each patient. Senescent cells are cells in our body’s that stop dividing and replicating, yet continue to exist and take up space. Essentially, senescent cells are like rogue zombie cells in our bodies that stop things from working optimally like they used to.

This is not only important in the treatment and prevention of cancer, but extends to all aspects of aging. It was believed up until the last few decades that once senescent cells are present, you are going downhill, but we know better now, and we know that acupuncture and other holistic therapies can greatly affect these cells and the overall process of aging. The approach we take targets the treatment of these senescent cells from as many angles as we can. Acupuncture up-regulates neurotrophic factors (increases the body’s already established substances that fight senescent cells) like BDNF, GDNF, and Neuropeptide Y to combat senescent and other “rogue” cells causing a decrease in function and health.

Age related disorders need to be addressed systematically (through the whole body). For this reason, we use many treatments alongside the acupuncture to assist in age related disorders like: .
